Leland Blue The Leland Lake Superior IronThe Leland Lake Superior Iron Company smelted iron in blast furnaces in the Great Lakes region from 1870 until it went bankrupt in 1885. At that time, they dumped the remaining industrial slag into Lake Michigan. These days treasure hunters comb the beaches for pebbles of the coveted Leland Blue glass. This specimen has beautiful swirls of color and is opalescent when it has light shining through it. Wrapped in cold forged Sterling Silver.
