Dogon Granary Door - 38.2 gardening Crafted with exceptional skill andDogon granary doors come from the Dogon people of the Bandiagara Escarpment in Mali. Each door protected the small, window like opening into a family's grain store, secured with a simple sliding lock. The carved figures primordial beings, ancestors, Kanaga masks, sun lizards and scenes of daily life served to protect the entrance and make it sacrosanct. Size: approx. 57cm H 34cm W 12cm D.
