Magnum Editions: Chicago, USA, 1968 The Beatles In an unusually intimate portraitAfter leaving his native Japan to move to America, Hiroji Kubota settled in Chicago, where he continued photographing while supporting himself by working in a Japanese catering business. There he captured images of the time he spent with the Black Panthers across the country in the early 1960s. Kubota became a Magnum associate in 1971.
