Made of silk, the backside is white with a floral pattern, while the front side is gold and green with a big chrysanthemum flower. Uchishiki is mainly used by followers of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism on the upper table (Maejyoku) and the front table (Uwajyoku) in the Buddhist altar during events such as New Year's Day, the equinoctial
